OC Rotunda, the biggest retail warehouse completed in the Czech Republic this year, is opening in Havířov today. The retail warehouse has a total area in excess of 6,300 sq m and is fully occupied.
“With the completion of the OC Rotunda the total area of retail warehouses in Havířov will double and new retailers will arrive on the local market,” says Jiří Kristek, Partner and Head of Cushman & Wakefield’s Retail Warehousing in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. “Despite the relatively large retail space and high number of outlets, OC Rotunda was fully occupied several months prior to its actual opening. This also illustrates how attractive the developer’s chosen location is and how much retailers are interested in expanding,” Mr Kristek adds.
“The Rotunda is our first independent retail project. We see retail warehouses as the future for the further development of retail space in the Czech Republic. This is a very flexible shopping concept and it is also quite popular among customers. The retail warehouse was under construction from this March,” says Aleš Vobruba, Partner at ASV Group, the owner of OC Rotunda. “As far as our various future commercial projects are concerned, we will continue our retail warehouse project in Prague-Štěrboholy next year. In this project we will also cooperate with Cushman & Wakefield in the matters of retail space lease,” Mr Vobruba adds.
Anchor tenants in OC Rotunda include a Lidl supermarket, C&A, Deichmann, Planeo elektro, a Rossmann chemist’s, Takko, a Dr. Max pharmacy, Orion, Eiscafé Delikana and SuperPet.
