The Challenge

Cushman & Wakefield has been selected by CIB Bank to act as their representative agent to sell the only 5-star hotel in Heviz, Hungary: the Lotus Therme Hotel & Spa that includes 232 guestrooms. 

The Solution

Step 1: C&W has undertaken the vendor due diligence to define the utmost achievable selling price and limit risk of pricing discount during the exclusivity period. Due to the specificity of the market, location and property type, it was decided to approach the market widely to secure interest from local but also global investors.

Step II:  After numerous convoluted negotiations with several parties, C&W had picked an applicable candidate who fulfilled the necessary requirements of the client.

Step III: C&W carried on with the investment negotiations until mutual consent of the parties have been achieved.

The Results

Despite various challenges, including political and market swings, C&W managed to mediate the deal between the buyer and the seller until closing. The property has been successfully sold to private Russian investor.
